Nursery Location
The nursery is located between Pardubice and Kolín, 10 km from Přelouč, near the village of Kladruby nad Labem and 4.5 km from the headquarters in Řečany nad Labem. On the 3rd class road No. 3227 (Kladruby n. L. – Kolesa), turn left onto a forest road about 300 m past the village of Kladruby n. L. After 200 m, you will arrive at the nursery premises.
Nursery Description
The total area of the nurseries is 58 ha, of which 48 ha is the production area. Individual nursery plots range from 1 to 2 ha in size. The nurseries are situated at an altitude of 210 m above sea level. The soil in the Kladruby nad Labem nursery is light sandy soil, which favorably supports the development of the seedlings' root systems.
The nursery facilities include workshops and a climate-controlled warehouse. Water from a local source is used for irrigation. All nursery areas are fenced. The nursery also utilizes 19 polytunnels and is equipped with a modern holding area for container-grown seedlings. The Kladruby nad Labem nurseries were established in the 1980s on cleared forest land within the Kladruby forests. Each plot is bordered by forest screens, which ensure a suitable microclimate for growing forest tree species.
The Kladruby nad Labem nursery specializes in growing bare-root forest seedlings using complex seven-row technology. The nursery also produces containerized seedlings in trays using air-pruning technology.
