Nursery Location
The nursery is located between Kolín and Pardubice, near the main road No. 322 between the village of Řečany nad Labem and the town of Chvaletice. To reach the office, when traveling towards Chvaletice, turn left before the overpass in front of the power plant (follow the "Skládka" sign). Enter the nursery premises and then continue along the local road to the right towards the production hall, where the nursery office is located.
Nursery Description
Forest nursery management has a very long tradition in Řečany nad Labem. The first nurseries were established here as early as the end of the 19th century. The long-term cultivation has contributed to the development of mycorrhizae in the soil, which has a positive effect on the survival and establishment of seedlings in forest stands.
The Řečany nursery complex includes the Dubina, Labětín, and Lhota pod Přeloučí nurseries. The total area is 42 ha, of which 39 ha is the production area. The nurseries are situated at an altitude of 210 m above sea level. The soil is primarily light sandy-loam, which favorably supports the development of the seedlings' root systems. Facilities include workshops and a climate-controlled warehouse. All nursery areas are fenced and equipped with an underground irrigation system supplied by the Elbe River.
We currently produce bare-root forest seedlings using complex seven-row technology, as well as container-grown semi-saplings and saplings in 1.6-liter plastic containers (Bowmont technology).
