Nursery Location
The nursery is located east of Hradec Králové and Pardubice, 2.5 km from Týniště nad Orlicí. It is situated on the right side of the 3rd class road in the direction from Albrechtice nad Orlicí to Vysoké Chvojno.
Nursery Description
The enterprise manages the Albrechtice nad Orlicí and Lipava nurseries. The total area of the nurseries is 37 ha, of which 33 ha is the production area. The nurseries are situated at an altitude of 280 m above sea level. These are traditional forest nurseries integrated into forest stands, benefiting from an excellent microclimate. The plots range from 100–300 m in length and 30–60 m in width. The soil is light loamy-sand, which favorably supports the development of the seedlings' root systems.
The nurseries have their own irrigation system and are fenced to prevent browsing damage by wildlife. Facilities include workshops and a climate-controlled warehouse. All nursery areas are fenced and equipped with an underground irrigation system. The nurseries in Albrechtice nad Orlicí were established in the 1960s and 1970s by the East Bohemian State Forests directly within the forest environment. Our company has been managing the site since 1992.
The Albrechtice nad Orlicí nursery produces bare-root forest seedlings using complex seven-row technology, as well as semi-saplings and saplings in containers. Since 2017, the nursery has also been developing the production of container-grown seedlings using the air-pruning system (air cushion), utilizing 9 new polytunnels and a holding area.
