Forest nursery in the surroundings of Recany nad Labem has a long tradition. It was founded already in 1895 by a forestry expert, a private verderer Konrad Herran, in the register of community in Kladruby nad Labem and Zdechovice. It is said that the verderer went through the whole Bohemia and Moravia to find the most suitable place for his intention to found a forest nursery - until he embedded in Recany. Herran´s forest nurseries are said to be the first enterprise of its kind in the middle Europe that time. The main customers were owners of small forest areas. Beside that searched Herran for other opportunities in the production of conifers and shrubs. Very famous is his patent of grid fence – Neulohe. Herran improved the whole scala of forestry equipments, further on he fully used advertisement and promotion.
After the World War II was Herran´s family displaced and their possession was confiscated. The nursery which involved about 22 ha that time was nationalized. The first appointed administrator of the nursery was Bedrich Pivec, later a worker at the ministery.
In 1946 was the nursery associated to the seed house in Ceske Budejovice. The first leader became Stanislav Srutek, forester from Stara Boleslav. Later in March 1946 came to Recany 14 young graduates of forestry highschool Hajenska who made there a traineeship and who were later supposed to become the leaders of seed house stations.
In 1947 was appointed a new leader of the nursery – Konstantin Podoljak – who used to be the administrator of the country estate in Zdechovice and who knew well the local conditions. In the coming years has the area of nursery gradually increased: a new nursery was founded in Cerny Rybnik and the nursery of Vacek´s company was associated to the existing enterprise.
In 1952 came under the administration of the existing enterprise also Hacker´s nurseries in Hradec Kralove.The manager of this new centre became Jindrich Koudela who managed till 1962 when the centre had to go away from the reason of new construction of housing estate Hradec Kralove – Slezske predmesti.
In 1964 overtook the nursery enterprise in Recany also a plant breeding station in Tyniste nad Orlici and in 1966 another nurseries in Albrechtice nad Orlici, Ledce and Dolni Jeleni. This way was created a new separated filliale called 01 Tyniste nad Orlici. That time was the nursery enterprise in Recany managed by Stanislav Rehurek.
In 1970 was created a surface drainage network by ditches, finished was also full-area irrigation in Recany nad Labem and stabilization of tracks. In 1971 was finished the building of air-conditioning depot. The nurseries had that time altogether 123 ha.
In 80´s was founded a new production centre in Kladruby nad Labem. In 1985 made the surface area of nurseries 200 ha.
In 1922 was the whole nursery enterprise privatized and overtaken by the company LESOSKOLKY s.r.o. The organization scheme was adjusted and in the years 1993-1994 was founded a new nursery in Hlavecnik with the area of 20 ha. In order to get closer to the customers in middle and northern Bohemia was in 1995 from the state enterprise Lesy CR hired a large-scale nursery Zelena Bouda (now called as production centre in Brandys) of the area 90 ha. Further on was in 1997 created a brand new forest nursery in Mlade Buky near Trutnov. The company that time farmed on the area of 300 ha of forest and partly also ornamental nursery.
In 1998 became the only owner and executive head of Lesoskolky s.r.o. Mr. Ladislav Nemec. The area of nurseries was partly reduced except the year 2006 when the company added a new nursery in the surroundings of Frantiskovy Lazne and As. The current area of the nurseries makes 200 ha.
