The company of LESOSKOLKY s.r.o. started in 1992 by the privatization of nursery enterprise Recany nad Labem which was part of the East-Bohemian state forests of Hradec Kralove. In the present time farms the company on 205 ha of nurseries in the surroundings of Recany nad Labem, Kladruby nad Labem, Hlavecnik, Albrechtice nad Orlici, Dolni Jeleni, Brandys nad Labem, Karane, Mlade Buky, Frantiskovy Lazne and As.
The main aim is the production of planting material for afforestation and reforestation. This production is realized primarily by the cultivation of traditional bare-root planting with the use of a complex seven-row technology. Further on the company specializes in production of container technology, mainly the cultivation by the air-pruned technology. Altogether produces the company yearly about 20 to 25 millions of plants used predominantly in the domestic market.
Additional production program makes cultivation of seedlings and stock material for gardeners and cultivators of Christmas trees. The company produces also higher-grown trees and shrubs for line outplanting, outplanting of habitat corridors, outplanting near water streams and cultivation of material for heddges.

These production centres are situated in climatic conditions which are suitable for production of forest planting. The over-see level of the production centres varies from 200 to 650 m.
The planting material is cultivated in poor soils which are light and well treatable. The plants create a rich root system which is a guarantee for successful survival of our plants on the afforested and reforested areas. Thanks to the long tradition of cultivation on our lands, mykkorhiza is very often presented in the plants´ roots - this causes a better growth of the plants in the nature. At the same time the microclimate of the nurseries created by the tree-coulisse also contributes to the better growth because the adult trees imitate common conditions in the forest and the replanted plants then avoid to any shock from replanting from the nursery to the forest.
All the production centers dispose of good nursery areas, stocks, manipulation areas, air-conditioned depots, irrigation systems, accommodation capacities and useful mechanization so that it can fulfill in the shortest possible time its task – to produce for our business partners the best quality planting material according to their requirements.
The company employs 23 technical and about 50 manual workers in the steady employment.
The company grows the whole assortment of forest tree species which can be used in the Czech environment. Our customer can choose from bare-root and container technology. We produce also a wide assortment of ornamental species and other tree species of the whole world.
The purchasers of our planting material are first of all the owners of the forests – state, municipalities, schools and colleges, religion and private persons. The high ratio of our production goes to the Lesy CZ, the state enterprise which administrates more than 50% of forestry area in the Czech Republic at the present time. A significant part of our production leads also the other than forestry places. While marketing the forest reproductive material, the company follows all the relevant directives and laws from both the European and the Czech legislation.
The company makes an effort to cooperate very closely with its business partners with regards to streamline the length of production cycle and capital intensity for both parties concerned. The company also cooperates during the seed collection in the forests of our partners to ensure that genetically related plants are given back to the areas of their origin. Our company also exchanges experience with our business partners and searches for new ideas to improve our service.
The company is ready to produce the planting material also for forest owners in our neighbor states in conformity with the relevant laws of both the local and the European legislation.
The company is an active member of many professional associations – first of all the membership of forest nurserymen in the Czech Republic (SLS CR), Association of nurserymen CR (SS CR), Association of Christmas tree growers and European Forest Nursery Association (EFNA). These memberships bring to the company new and useful contact in the branch and at the same time contributes to the observation of new trends in the nursery business.
